About Me

ARTIST’S BIO

I was born and raised in North Dakota. After obtaining my B.S. degree in Cytotechnology, I moved to Arizona. Five years later I relocated to the west coast. I have worked in Pathology as a cytotechnologist since 1982. In 1995 I received my Masters in Health Science from San Francisco State University. I currently reside in San Jose, California with my husband, Art, and 3 cats.

In 1994, I took my first art course while finishing my graduate studies at San Francisco State University. Thanks to my instructor, Rob Guynn, I was encouraged to pursue my art. I went on to develop my drawing skills by taking a number of drawing and sketching courses at the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, California. Since that time I have continued to explore various art mediums by attending art courses and workshops given by other artists. My range of medium includes graphite, colored pencil, acrylics, clay prints, collage and mixed media.

As an artist, I have received much inspiration and encouragement from my art group, Arts of the Covenant, based out of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church. We are a group of artists who meet and collaborate to explore the union of art and faith. I have participated in several collaborative projects which have been exhibited in the Bay Area and beyond.
